“Give me 36 Rafiu Ajakayes as CPS and the communication between the executive governors and their people in Nigeria becomes seemless and effective. The Kwara Governor’s CPS has throughout the first four years he worked with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, displayed diligence, discipline, and professionalism.

“We hail the governor for re-appointing him as we congratulate and urge the CPS to remain standing on the principles that earned him another term in office,” Yusuf said.

Reacting to his reappointment, Ajakaye said; “I owe whatever I did right in my first outing to Almighty Allah, to all of you who elected — out of our collective humanity and your grace — not to misread or latch onto my many imperfections, and to my principal His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, who was so very understanding and thoughtful to guide me through many phases with his great insights and uncommon patience. Immense respect and gratitude to my teammates, colleagues, seniors, mentors, and the media establishment for their kindness and great camaraderie. And to my dear wife and friend for everything.”

Saying that public office “is a huge trust to be discharged to the people, and to God who sees the basest of our hearts,” the CPS added; “It is a burden that only God and your support/goodwill/understanding can lessen. I beg for your support, your understanding, and your prayers for His Excellency and for the government that he leads, which shall remain committed to public good but will not be beyond human imperfections.”

Here, below, is the full statement.

Dear friends/compatriots:

Thank you for your kind words, prayers, and best wishes. The volume of the messages is truly humbling.

I owe whatever I did right in my first outing to Almighty Allah, to all of you who elected — out of our collective humanity and your grace — not to misread or latch onto my many imperfections, and to my principal His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, who was so very understanding and thoughtful to guide me through many phases with his great insights and uncommon patience. Immense respect and gratitude to my teammates, colleagues, seniors, mentors, and the media establishment for their kindness and great camaraderie. And to my dear wife and friend for everything.

One thing is clear: public office is a huge trust to be discharged to the people, and to God who sees the basest of our hearts. It is a burden that only God and your support/goodwill/understanding can lessen. I beg for your support, your understanding, and your prayers for His Excellency and for the government that he leads, which shall remain committed to public good but will not be beyond human imperfections. I ask Allah for His grace as this new journey begins, humbly expectant of His guidance and mercies, and truly desirous of your own support every step of the way.

Again, I thank you.
